Audio+ = a Philosophical Audiophile
Ok, I admit it -- I'm an audiophile. I also love music. Recently, I've delved into audio to try new music, find new sounds. I've had the chance to audition a lot of things and put together a system. I've tried to learn about how equipment works, what kinds of technologies result in perceptible differences, and how can those qualities be formulated in words?
I've now tried my hand at a couple speaker reviews:

I've now tried my hand at a couple speaker reviews:
- Review of Fritz Carbon 7 SE Mk2 speakers: https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/review-fritz-heiler-s-carbon-7-se-mk-2-bookshelf-speakers
- Review of Fritz Carrera speakers: https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/review-fritz-heiler-s-carrera-be-bookshelf-speakers
Here are some sample questions:
- Are there philosophical assumptions made which underpin some of audiophile debates?
- What is required of attention to listen to music? Do the aesthetics of music benefit by attending to their sonic character? Does content follow form in this way?
- How does the rise of "ubiquitous" listening (in the car, as background, etc.) affect "critical" listening?
- What is the relation of noise pollution, generally, to attention to the quality of sound in audio?
- Why is the audiophile hobby predominantly populated by males? Why is it gear-centric?
